Originally opened in 1926 as a flight school by brothers Charlie and Alister McAllister, it was one of the longest running flight schools in the Northwest. After Charlie's death at age 95, the school was transformed into the museum it is today. We are located at the East end of the Yakima Airport, next to Cub Crafters, near the corner of 16th and Washington.

16th Avenue construction : Due to road construction, access to the museum from the North is now through the Cub Crafters gate, and parking in the "back lot". Coming from the South, parking is available in the museum lot. Normal access should resume sometime in September.
Yakima Air Terminal's 80th Birthday is September 13th : Free Admision to all the displays and activities.
We are currently operating without a director : Volunteers are filling in until the Board of Directors elects to actively seek a replacement. What we most need is someone who has a strong sense of community and good fund raising skills, in order to help secure the museum's future.
Fuel Discount : Don’t forget that as a museum member you receive a 10c a gallon discount on your fuel purchases. Please see Roberta to register your debit/credit card for your discount.
Champion 7FC : Our 1961 Tri-Champ rebuilding project is complete. Anyone interested in purchasing a beautifully restored Champ may come to the museum for an inspection and test flight. We are asking $29,950.
